I've been planning to head South for some vitamin D therapy with the family this Winter. My laziness and procrastination has gotten the best of me. I'm now looking at March, but notice that the lodging prices drop pretty drastically around then. Is there something I need to know about La Ventana in March?

Villa Paraiso is a great place for family in La Ventana if looking for the comforts of home. Not for small children as they may slip under the rail and fall down the cliff.

One of the few pools offered in Ventana. Hot shower but make it fast. Internet (two free wind sensors and weather report now available on iWindsurf Baja Guide). Cable TV. Full service restaurant.

Terraced into a cliff, lots of stairs to climb (6 stories). Get a room in the middle, not as much climbing but still a good view of the ocean.

Kayak and mask and snorkel for now, may purchase more water toys in the future. Two ATVs, gutless 2x4 but gets the job done.

Contact info for Villa Paraiso:

A little warmer in March. Some of the local kiters say the wind can still be good Nov - April.

LV is great in March. Lots of people stay until mid to late April for kiting.

Located just South of Capt Kirk's and Palapas Ventana. Took a morning walk South to Baja Joe's, not sure but felt like a kilometer or so.

Rates are now $100 USD per night.

I have never stayed as late as March but in talking with people that have I hear the wind can be great depending on the year. Regardless expect alot less people around by then.
