Anybody get the R.R. Dawn patrol today? Does anyone think it will go tomorrow? Will the New York Islanders ever win the Stanley Cup again? These are among the burning questions in my little brain.

Rooster is starting to pick up! But it's supposed to rain in Portland today. Any reason not to kite in the rain? I am jonesin for a sesh today but I just want to know: is kiting in the rain is doable just a little more wet? Seems possible to me but I still got a lot to learn about kiting in the NW. There is a 90% I will just see you all at Rooster in like an hour but I would like to get the low down before I just go by myself. Thanks!

You can kite in the rain just fine. The face and eyes take a beating when kiting and the heavy stuff comes ie hard rain and or hail--sunglasses are nice when this happens.

Kiting in the rain just takes some extra motivation because it is usually cold/colder.

I wear a rain jacket when it rains and I'm riggin. I also use the latex and cloth work gloves when rigging. Then switch to 2mm gloves before launching. This of course is when it is a bit cooler then it is today.

There are caps out at RR right now. Probably good 11m sle.

BV to RR would be fun. . .

I/we kite in the rain all the time up here at Damon Point, Double Bluff, etc. But Holly, even though your comment was made in jest... it is a real pain to try to dry your kites when you live in an apartment or small house. And if you don't dry, the kites will end up with mold stains. My 15 is hanging in my attic right now. Grrrrrrr

Been there done that. You never realize how big your kite is until you inflate inside your house. Shocked

Good thing I live in a castle.

Oh, Jesus, another great f&^%ing day! Very Happy If this is what we get with shitty weather, I wish it had rained all summer! Very Happy OK, JK, sort of... Damn but I love Easterlies.

You gotta wear polarized sunglasses anyways this time of year. Hauling ass in 2" of water, you need to see through the surface. It's funny leaving fresh tracks in the sand... Shocked

Off the side note, is there any way to remove mold stains from a kite?
