The new IDS bar's safety syster is designed around the bridle of the kite as well. Guessing it won't work with older Cab kites. Check with a local Cabrinha dealer for best results. |

I don't know much about Cabrinhas - haven't had a lot of opportunity to ride them. About your cabrinha bar question - I would call a shop that sells cabrinhas. They should be able to tell you how easy it would be to switch bars.
Regarding other bars and interchangeable with other kites. Some yes, some no. You have to make sure its a four line bar if its a four line kite (some kites/bars are five lines). Second you have to make sure that the pig tails match up. For example, best bars use all female pigtails on their bars. While slingshot uses a mix of female and male pigtails on their bars. You can make a slingshot bar work with a best kite - you just have to switch out the pigtails (a lot of kite shops sell seperate pig tails). But other than pig tails most bow kites can be used with other bars - that is assuming that when completely powered all four lines are the same length (this is the standard) however, there are exceptions, like older F one bars don't have the same length lines when completely powered.
If you have a specific bar with a kite you want to know if it will work - post up. _________________ Still rockin gojos, *ssless chaps, and ankle weights! |

there was nothing specific just wondering mostly about putting a new ids with an older cabrinha kite being that it essentially looks like it releases the forward bridle lines to depower the kite could be useful in an emergency. kind of looks like the older recon 2 system? thanks for the info about mixing manufacturer's kites/bars. have been looking for a newer kite and some people sell without the bar/lines for some reason. kind of leaning rowards a naish 08-09 helix or cult. really like the look of the kite and reviews that follow the brand in general. |
