Has anyone been to Dauphin Island, AL or St. Augustine, FL? I'm looking to go in May and wondering if anyone has any advice or suggestions... |

Sweet, thanks John!
Did you go out with Tak today Adam? I think I should be able to ride soon, I'm almost allowed to use this different kind of bandage that is waterproof - just a couple more days (hopefully the weather will hold)!! |

Never gotten a chance to kite Dauphin Island, but I've heard it gets a lot of windy days when it's not summer.

Unfortunately it looks like the Gulf Coast Kiteboarding Forum got overtaken by spam, but there's some info on NW Florida on the FKA forum. I believe there is some info about Dauphin Island on the Florida forum. If not I bet those guys would answer any questions.
There are a few sensors on ikitesurf that are free and I added to my favorites. I have to say I've seen a lot of windy days since September and since it is an island you could ride most directions.
I'm considering moving back down there one day and from the little bit of scouting I've done on the eastern shore of Mobile Bay, I think there is a lot of potential for launches. Oh and there's probably like 5 kiteboarders in all of Alabama so crowding is not an issue.
Have fun. If you have any questions or want to know some other stuff to do down there shoot me a pm.
