This film is basically put togethor by John Forse the organizer of the tow-in contest and trying to give himself sole credit for the discovery of Nelscott reef.

There were lots of other local surfers who were part of the discovery of the reef and involved in the pioneering of tow-in surfing at the place. John Forse tries his best to discard these players so that he might get all the notoriety and posssible profit from the place.

He doesn't even surf the place, but has a surfshop named after the reef, and tow-in contest where he selectively chooses the contestants.

You can draw your own conclusions, but I see a poser seeker greenbacks!!

Maybe so, but, without greenbacks there wont be any movies to enjoy.

I cant remember where, but, I read in a recent post that videographers (maybe it was Tronlone SP?) were not making money from their kiteboarding productions so they have moved on to other subject matter. That is really a shame in my opinion. If you want more or better quality content you/we need to pay for it.

5 bucks is inexpensive entertainment. I would go see this movie if it was in a Seattle theater regardless of the motivation of the producer. You can always watch it with ear plugs and just enjoy the action if you dont want to hear the self-aggrandizing me, me, me part.

i look forward to the reviews.

Not trying to hate but give the guy props for putting his money where his mouth is and maybe that's why the locals didn't get the nod because too many cooks can spoil the taste of the stew????

Nobody is making money in video and with the internet nobody wants to pay for it so
I doubt the greenbacks are piling up over a tow-in contest or movie premier. Plus, working a surf shop seems to be more of a passion than a retirement plan.

Everyone has a fantastic idea but what separates the men from the boys is they put the time in to see if it will work. Zach Price and Stringy building Iphone apps. Nak building quick release safety devices. Forrest building sliders in his front yard. Nate pushing Cineaptic....and then we have the grand-daddy KB4C that came about from 3-friends sitting in an airport during a road-trip.

Without somebody saying....ah fuck it...let's try it....life would be boring.

I think that the people with the skills and balls to surf this place deserve a little credit and exposure. The Nelscot contest doesn't really seem to be this evil money grubbing event to me. The others made a good point, this guy stepped up and did something.

Not surprising that other surfers are hating on him. Surfers are experts at not sharing the stoke.

curious what the whole story is - he seems to have pissed off the entire local crew (strange for someone who has to live there)

Anyone from the Westside going? I need a ride.....
They still won't let me drive with one arm. I tried to explain that I would be just as safe as the cellphone, texters, makeup appliers....

Anyway, PM if you can help..
Mark

That's what I keep saying...

The docs say NO. That u must have two usable arms. Or one arm and a converted steering wheel.

I called my insurance company for clarification. They said the docs are correct. They even said my insurance policy would be declared VOID if I get in a wreck before I get a written doctors release.
