Pooling enough people to buy a four wheel drive vehicle to get to Mt Hood meadows ski resort and not get stuck, saves money |

yup....
as a weekend warrior I gotta say F$%K meadows...
steve is right, I used to get a Summit Pass for that amount, or a WinterPark/MaryJane pass for way cheap... even the Steamboat college pack was a smoking deal compared to the crowded, never-open, always ending in flat-crap Meadows....
just saying....skibowl/t-line is sounding pretty good right now..
might have to break out the teli-gear or travel more. |

Amen to this. $400 to stand in line and drive further - no thank you. _________________ MS |

We were going to say fuck Meadows as well, but caved...
T-line is way better for park, but they get shut down too easy because of weather. Ski Bowl's cool, especially being 15 mins closer, but we need those above average snowfall years down at Govy (like the past 2).
If you're only able to ride weekends/weeknights, definitely would agree that the Fusion is a better deal. |

Yeah I think I'm going with the fusion for that exact reason Adam. Just hope that the snow level is low enough for ski bowl cuz I don't want to be stuck going to timberline all year |

skis are the better option at meadows too i think... with all the run-outs and traversing needed to get the goods |

Save your money and go to bachelor for some real snow and terrain.
Mt. Hood =
SKi bowl = slushy shit snow, the slowest lifts in the country, and one steep section that lasts for 2 minutes.
Timberline = decent snow, shit loads of teen agers, and little diversity in terrain.
Meadows, some of the better snow on the mountain, decent terrain that is never accessible when the snow is good, and yeah, long lift lines.
What can I say, I'm a jaded old ski snob. If you haven't ventured out of Oregon and Washington to ski let me tell you that it is well worth the effort. Take a trip to Big sky for a week:

then try to get pumped up about "heather canyon baby" ummm.. yeah. |

We aren't doing passes this year. Our plan is Ski Bowl / Canada / Idaho. Maybe a couple "sick days" up at Meadows when it deep and high quality snow (usually only a couple days a year.)
Planning for at least 3-4 trips to Idaho to get the snowkiting goods!
Talk about ride time, I bet I got more riding in a 3 hour snowkiting session then I did an entire season of Meadows.. |
