| I recall someone saying that CW Beach goes off when there's a northerly component to Easterlies. RR shows E-NE wind right now? for those of you who been lucky to kite Cottonwood - is this the right setup? |

| I don't think CW looks good, generally you need a ESE wind at RR to get wind at CW. But you never know, it might go, especially upwind... |

The Cam isn't showing 40. That looks more like 20 to me.

It may be only 20 there, the East end of RR is a different story... Wind hasn't filled in to the West yet, Troutdale is still showing W @ 4. I'd be prepared for some BIG gusts even at the west end though. |

| I'm new to the area but it sounds like it's pretty gusty at RR; 11 is probably too overpowered. Thoughts? |

Corbett was the call...Lit on a 7 between 1 and 5.....
Just east of reed island is insane...
water was super shallow - for an east wind, it was pretty steady...tack upwind to the river and you got swell....Spot is 10 times way better than the flats just below Bridal V....

OK, so how you do Corbett? Where do you park? Interstate ramp or further off the interstate? Also, where do you get down to the beach? I was there scanning around for my lost board, and was really surprised by the beach spanning for over a mile. But how do you get to it? Closed road way or over the boulders on the west side of a Corbett exit?
BTW, RR was awesome, starting with lit 7m at 2 and going into comfy 9m by 6. |

I haven't parked there, so someone else will have to chime in. BTW, the water level was the lowest it's been all year today. In, fact, this morning it was the lowest I've ever seen it, period. Not sure what the level was at the dam, they stopped reporting a couple of weeks ago for some reason. |

Thanks man...!
Kited with 2 friends (Brian S. and John J.)
The Nak Nak Flats...! This place of sickness will most definetly go down on my very short list of "bad ass - places to kite in da Gorge"
That spot is flat out way cool.....I'm ditch'n the fins off my board next time...as I took a couple of nasty spills in the shallows.... |

Yeah, I forgot to through a finless board in the boat. I usually have one for there. Once the water level goes up a bit, it's just chop in the flats. Ya gotta hit it on the low water days. |
