Happy holidays. Have any of you out there had a chance to try the Naish Smartloop. What were your thoughts on it?

Not sure if it's available yet, but the proto we tried was sick. Cleanest system I've seen in awhile.

Definitely a nice clean system, and it should be in stores now.

All of the Cults and Codes come with it on a 1:1 bar, and I believe that we have sold through all of the Helix's with the standard loop, so the latest Helix shipments should also all be Smart Loops.

There have been some questions on where to attach the leash. We have done quite a bit of testing and recommend that you attach the leash at the end of the trim line that runs back through the cleat. Attach it between the two black balls at the end of the line, and when you let go of the bar the trim line will depower the kite.

With this maximum depower the kite has pretty much no power. Now pull the bar back to you, reload the smart loop, and then feed the line back through the Smart Loop and pulley. To get the line started it takes a little bit of technique as the bar is pulled right up to the pulley with the stopper squeezed in-between.

I usually drop my kite/bar about three times per reach... bam, bam bam, and so far this attachment method has not failed me once since I started riding the Cults back in March (and I ride pretty much everyday). There is another point you can attach up at the front lines via a metal ring, but if you let go the bar it travels way up the lines. I would recommend any experienced rider the use the end of the trim line, and for beginners to use the front like flagging ring and run the line around the bar.

Enjoy, Jon

yup, use the timnr line. If you let go of the bar, it will depower the kite...it will even more the stopper up as well. I've self landed the 10.5 cult in 30mph+...(due to some audience I tried to self land it half way in a slope and half way in water..figured it was worth a try) when it didn't go all the way down I simply engaged the quick release, the kite calmly turned upside down, and I simply pulled in the center lines to get the kite.

I love the system having used it in a range of different conditions.

A.

I just tried my 2009 Naish bar system and it seems like the cleated sheeting system is a little tricky. What should I be doing to secure the cleat once I get the desired power.

It was pretty flakey when I first tried it and I was wondersing if there is a certain method that will cleat it more securely.

Yeah looks real nice and clean.............NAAAAAT.

I still think the best bar I have used is the 06 slingy bar. Why do bars need to have huge plastic pieces these days? And I really do not like having the sheeting down by the loop, that crap just starts dangling around and smacking you.

I guess you have to be a Slingshot Pimp to be able to post threads here at NWKite. Nice hijack Inept and Shy! Rolling Eyes

Although I have to agree that the Slingy 06 bar is one of my all-time favorites less the chicken loop setup, take it to another thread guys!

Ive used the new Naish bar and it's a better set up than what you all are hashing out right now with the unnecessary 800lb. lines. Neutral Design a better chicken loop will ya? Ive only exploded two of them to date into tiny pieces and I dont even ride them on a regular basis. You know what I ride and we dont have that problem... So before you toot your horn again, please go back to the drawing board and make a stronger/better chicken loop!

Sorry just to clarify you blew up two Naish Chicken loops into tiny pieces. I have not heard of any problems like this. How exactly does a chicken loop break into tiny pieces?

I was not going to chime in but this seems like a Bias bashing. Our bar has been well regarded as one of the cleanest and best bars on the market. While I know that there are other great designs out there. I do feel the Naish bar is a great design and has very few problems.

Cheers,

Nick

Inept/ Ian, I usually dont waste my time on guys like you! But, you must be addressed immediatly cause your B.S. gets deeper everytime I log into this site!

First, you changed your avatar from a weak slider shot to an even weaker loop shot. Secondly, you wouldnt know what a 35kt mega loop was if I threw down a $100 bill in your face and begged you to try! Personally I'd love to go head to head with ya just once to see if all this garbage you post is legit! I'd even be happy to see you do a legit F16 more than 8-10ft off the water just for a start! Then you can chuck shit my way without a rebuttle... Laughing

Love the rest of the guys at Slingshot but your an over rated punk who didnt place in the only event you ever entered into. Now you try to claim " I just ride for myself and push the limits". Weak to say the least! Lets see what you have for us this year! Put your money/ results where your mouth is!

Now back to topic! The Naish bar is one of if not the best bar out there right along side the new Eclipse Morph bar. Iv'e always liked the Slingshot bars but the new chicken is just not strong enough for me...
