Perfectly powered 11m for the last 90 minutes. Water level perfect for BV. My best session of the season! Not sure how long it wil last. Dead steady NE wind...

Yeah, about 3:20 it dropped to 13 - 15m wind. I actually could still ride with my 11m, but it became a struggle to go upwind.

Best session I've ever had, period! Very Happy I had the ponds all to myself, no VS, no fisherman, nobody. The wind was a lot more North than usual, so tacks were parallel to the shore instead of back and forth. You could start at the bottom of the ponds and make the BV launch in one tack. The wind was coming almost straight across sand Island, so the water was absolutely butter smooth. I've never boosted so much! Very Happy I could boost twice on each tack, and still stay upwind easily. (OK, not an Amery/Adam/PKH/Mark boost, but consistently the biggest boosts I've done...) The wind was so North, you didn't fight the current at all, you just cruised up the river. I decided to try and head up to Dalton, and was making it upriver about 200 - 300 yards each tack or more. I could have made it to Dalton, but I started thinking about how fast it can shut down at RR and I chickened out. Very Happy

Out in the channel, West of the wall, it was a lot more East, like normal. So I just stayed in the Ponds!

At about 1520 I had to start working at staying upwind, so I called it a day. I could have pumped up my 15m and kept going, but why? After the best day ever on an 11m, why ride with a 15m? Very Happy

Wow. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

That's awesome, man. I hope there are some more good RR sessions this season, I'm not ready for winter.

That's awesome, Mike! Wish I could have joined ya. Jeff and Tomas said they bumped into you though.

How does the 11m pull your boat? Wink Laughing

P.S. From the time you leave your house, how long does it take you to get to Rooster by boat? Seems like it could be a lot faster than backtracking to 205.

I actually couldn't leave the kite hooked up like that to long, it started pulling the stern up on the sand a little bit each wave. Very Happy I had to push the boat out a bit after launching the kite. Very Happy

10 minutes to the Marina, 10 minutes to load the gear in the boat, 20 minutes to the ponds. A LOT faster than hiking up to the ponds! Very Happy

The only thing better is keeping your solo nirvanna
sesh a secret between you and the wind god that
gave it to you.

Another philosophy: Give and you will receive!

Hey Mark, you need some new pads!
PM me and I'll hook you up.

There are many ways to give:
Publicly, privately and even anonymously

I can't believe that picture hasn't spilled
onto the KF.

And you can. My advice is to take it behind the boat a few times. It
will help you get the feel for it. PM me.

But the reality is that R&D in this industry does not always mean 'Research
and Development. I consider myself somewhat innovative when it
comes to product design. So in order to protect my ideas so that I might
be able to license them I need to keep them under wraps as much
as possible. That's really hard to do with all the brand connected riders
and the free flow of information we have in this sport.

If you guys want to see more of my stuff reach production then the best
way to do that would be to encourage companies to partner with guys
like me. It would be better for all you riders. Licensing is really easy when
you work with well meaning and respectful businesses. Like NSI, Surftech
and others.

Mike, stoked you had such a great sesh! You earned it after shuttling Mark and I last Friday just to have the wind drop off. I'll hit you up with some beers by the way whenever you want. Just goes to show you never know when it'll sneak up on ya. A good forecast doesn't mean a good sesh and a crappy forecast doesn't mean a bad sesh.

What to do this weekend is the remaining question.
