OK, so here is the lowdown on the pictures...I can't find the other ones. Either they were not recorded..which may be the case as I kept getting flash card error messages when shooting on sunday. Or I somehow misplaced one of the flashcards. I have two that look exactly alike, and I can't find one at the moment.

I think however that it is the first problem as I remember clicking on the thumbnails and then having some different photo open up?? So somehow the file numbers fot screwed up. Anyone have anything like this happen?

Either way, it is very upsetting as there was some good shot of stringer and strachen on that second flash card.

Dude, it was a caption to a photo... The point of the thread was to share the stoke, not to bring up some stupid ass debate on "surf style legitimacy". Way to find some way to piss on the parade though Thumb's Up

In the future I'll tone down my excitement over my own progression as nair I offend the unhooked purist.

I try not to say much and just lurk around the site, but that is f'n BS. Monkeyboy, don't tame it down, your picks got me so stoked for wave riding I can't wait for the the weekend to go out and practice with my surf board.

Stop the hate and enjoy the stoke. I am f'n sick of the negativity. Evil or Very Mad

I am calm now and will go back to lurking.......

Dude,
Manzo doesn't usually work well for unhooking because of the wind direction.
Anytime you have to fly the kite to keep it in the air it makes more sense to be hooked in.
If you get a good wave where you can shred down the line and park the kite it feels awesome to ride it unhooked.
We're all posers, rollerbladers.

Dont get me wrong, I am the biggest poser of all.
My point- MB was calling strapped riders posers....fine but seemed a little like the pot calling the kettle black, at least I admit being a "poser" in some peoples opinion, and truth be told as far as im concerned if your having fun and getting a stoke then you "get it" regardless of what others think.

In case you still dont understand Dont call others posers "caption" or not

Great shots by the way, I am jealous Thumb's Up

I've got one extremely crappy shot from the dunes, which I'm sure one of you is in, that is if you can squint and figure out who from the kite shadows Rolling Eyes But the sky is kinda sweet Smile

I think if you are using straps on a surfboard its kind of like having that itch you just can't get to, or having that terrible lingering smell. However there is a cure for you strap weaklings... its called vagisil and that should clear up your vaginitis in no time. Unless you like beeing a wussy- "part wimp part pussy Laughing

As I recall TE, you got lofted pretty good in the middle of the river and inverted your kite at one point. A fun day was had by all.

I guess there is a time and a place for straps but after riding the board without them, I can't imagine being able to ride it with them. Perhaps if the waves were ginormous or something and it was going to be a nightmare getting past the break or something but I would probably sit that session out anyways.

jibing is much easier without straps and there is a much greater sense of freedom and less clutter b/c you can put your feet wherever you want and just move around the board. Not to mention, landing strapless airs is pretty damn difficult, but feels really really cool. Manzo forecasted for 20's on sunday....

Agree w/Stringer. Side or sideoff unhooked means you can just let the kite hover, there isn't much flying. If there are gusts or dirty wind, it is harder IMO. Lots of the kite personalities you see out there are at great side/sideoff places with excellent waves and you can really let loose (not that they can't kitesurf unhooked anywhere but for the rest of us).

I just got a chance to kite at Crescent City. It has a side/sideoff place and it was really fun to let the kite track me for once!! Cool
