| They are forecasting NW 7' swell with 2' wind swell at 10 seconds. Anyone care to translate that into kiteability? Seems like 10 seconds is a little close together. |

It'll be fine. The wind swell at Manzo is probably like a 5-6 sec period so 10 sec isn't bad for summer swell. _________________ The Slider Project, LLC

I'm not seeing a whole lotta goodness for the coast either... ikite has a little better outlook, but not much:
Strong westerlies for the Gorge through the weekend. Backing down a bit Monday.
With the North Pacific High strengthening off the southern Oregon coast and an upper trough sinking across Oregon and into California, strong westerlies will prevail. Meanwhile, a series of shortwave troughs will oscillate past the Gorge and keep conditions cool and fairly cloudy. So, look for solid westerlies winds across much of the Gorge. By Monday, the parade of shortwaves looks to subside and gradients look to slacken a bit.
Saturday:
Mid to upper teens at Jones Beach. Low to mid 20's for Stevenson with solid mid to maybe upper 20's for the Corridor all the way out to the East. Upper teens for Manzanita and upper teens to low 20's south of Florence.
Sunday:
Low to mid 20's for Stevenson and mid 20's for the Corridor to the East. Around 20 for Manzanita. |
