If you are referring to the Slider Events on Friday it is one big assed party for everyone.

These are events created with the intention of bringing together the worlds best kiters and some of Mt Hoods best park riders all together in Hood River for everyone to participate with.
Unfortunately due to American liability practices and damn good lawyers, the only people that will be hitting the snow and kite sliders will be ones who have either been invited due to their experience or reputation, or people who have approached us an received approval to hit any of the snow or wind obstacles

Because of liability issues we have to handpick everyone who can and cannot ride these sliders. Everyone needs to understand that this is a privately funded event by a bunch of locals who are putting their asses on the line to make this happen in our community.
If we can pick up a big sponsor to headline our insurance for next year, then we may be able too open this event up to more participants and photo/videographers.

The Slider Project is picking who rides the kite boxes and rails.
2nd Wind and IPS are picking who hits the snow rails.

As for spectating during the daytime, this will be a one-of-kind event both on the water in the daytime and on the sandbar in the evening (Friday, that is).

I can guarantee that Friday's festivities will be something you will not want to miss.
Ruben guest DJ'ing, live skate music, snow rails, Slingshot party kite tent, bonfire, shwag, and an opportunity to hang out with the worlds best kiters (even Ruben's buddy, that British kid who keeps winning everything).

Anyone have any spare portable power generators or outdoor lighting that they can loan us for Friday's festivities?

Sweet!!! Thanks for all the PM's guys.

I think that all we need now are :
- parking lot attendants to help keep an open aisle on Friday morning to afternoon to allow the Dumptruck to come through
- maybe a couple more outdoor halogen lights and a generator or two.

Pepi

Pepi, I have a couple sets of halogen lights. Cheap ones but they throw a good amount of light.

Just to clarify, I know friday is all pro day but what about on saturday? Can anyone hit the slider then?

The Airush BigBox that we're trying to finish up now will always be open to public, for the public by the public!

The Pro-only feature is something completely different we're doing on June 19th only... It's stairs and a Hand Rail coming out of a raised pool built on scaffolding.

The snow setup will likely be invite only.

PHEW! I envisioned some kind of gate or something on the slider preventing people from hitting it.

I hope people realize how fucking cool what Forrest and the gang are doing. This shit takes alot of work and a real lets just fucking do it attitude. hats off to you guys.

Bring SHOVELS!!!!! EVeryone!!!

We may get a shitload more snow than we originally asked for, and that would be SWEEEEEET.. and Safer.

Snow hurts less than hard boulders under a layer of carpet when catching an edge on the rail.

I will keep you all posted.

And, thank you to all of you who are bringing generators, extension chords and halogen work lights.

ALSO - THANKS YOU to Justin of Sushi Okalani who is loaning us a generator and supplying prizes from Sushi Okalani. Keep it local and support your local businesses!

Thanks
Pepi

what time do you realistically think the kiting will begin and end on Friday? Have to work till 3:00, wondering if I can still watch any pros on the features?

The pros will generally wait until the Sun is lower in the sky for better lighting, so they probably won't start until 4. That, and they have to help us setup.
