Thu Jun 11, 09 8:26 pm surf board decking/pad question |
|
|
I have an epoxy surfboard that is getting some soft spots. not sure its going to be worth properly fixing them so I may opt for some pads in place of a real fix. I do not surf this board so covering it with traction seems to make sense.
I want some thin low density pads that are light weight to cover the board with. What are the best products out there? I would prefer sheets rather than a bunch of pieces.
has anybody experimented with putting traction on a kiteboard like a windsurfboard? seems like a better option than the pads and or loads and loads of wax.

Fri Jun 12, 09 6:30 am Your better off just putting some NSI peel and stick |

1/4inch all over it. If you already have soft spots and you put a sugar coat on it will only pressure ding more.
I think a sheet of NSI 1/4 inch peel and stick is $40 bucks or less. Buy a sheet and stick it.

Those soft spots arent going away . Fix them now before they get bigger. We have traction: long board kits , sup pads and the repair man Brad . Bring it by for a look.

Are you talking about pressure dings under the heels? Those are pretty normal and in my experience don't get worse after initial compression. Another option for pads is the DaKine longboard pad. It'll cover everything forward of the tail pad pretty nicely as far as you'd ever need to put your foot. It's flat and comes in 4 pieces that fit together nicely. I think it runs about $30-35.

How did you manage to make that good looking board look like shit? That is now the ugliest board I've ever seen.
