I want to put one of those little yellow balls on my REV's to prevent my bar from shooting all the way to hell and gone when I let go while unhooked.
Is there anything I should know about (besides the potential rotor inducing effects)? I thought 15' would be enough to flag the kite out plenty.
Or do you reckon its just better to clip in suicide to the depower rope and forget about it. /

PDXmonkeyDUDE,
After my experience with the whole unhooking and letting go of the bar, I recommend that you just hook in suicide above the chicken loop/depower, that way your bar will move up untill it hits the stopper. You will obously have a little bit of power in the kite, best to run it on the css (center line safety system?) if you are near shore or other obstructions such as people where it will just flag out and totally depower. |

| Don't use one of the yellow balls. I've played around with this and you can insert a piece of plastic into the line instead of using the ball. No extra tangles this way. It works great. You want to use a piece of plastic bar as thick as you can insert into the weave. I get mine by cutting pieces of plastic rivets. (available at any good hardware store.) Hit me up if you want... |

Nak, I assume you tested this doesn't weaken the line, right? _________________ just wear sunscreen |

I tried it with 500 pounds. You want to make sure you round the edges of the ends of the bar so that it wont fray the line. It should end up looking like a little pill. |

| Nak, I'm quite certain you were a sailor in a previos life. I like the idea of the insert but for now I am going to do the line clip thing. When I do that on my t2 it can really screw stuff up though because of that stopper ball thingie. |
