The official CGKA HR Sandbar clean up day for 2009 is Saturday May 23rd at 10:00 AM. The Army Corps of Engineers have once again been generous and have agreed to lower the river. We need 4X4's to assist the cleanup. Come down and help out in making the sandbar a safer place.

See you on Saturday May 23rd Thumb's Up - Jim & CGKA BOD

BBQ - YES

Bonfire - NO, but if we are there until / after dark we may be permitted to have a camp fire sized fire.

Since we have decided to have the BBQ at the Spit, YES we can have a small fire. Nick and Naish are providing a Keg!

PostWed May 20, 09 2:34 pm    TREW after-party: The Pub (FREE BEER) Reply with quote

To celebrate the end of winter and the start of summer, TREW is throwing down one keg of FREE BEER at the Horse and Hound Pub starting at 9pm Saturday night. Once we've kicked the keg we'll party into the night at the Pub.

For those of you not familiar with TREW, it is a new ski/snowboard apparel company based out of Hood River. The three founders spent five months this past winter cruising around in an RV doing grass roots marketing. To learn more please visit www.trewgear.com. Also, East Coast Snowboarding just released their product reviews and you can read their take on TREW at http://www.eastcoastsnowboarding.com/0910product/trew/index.php.

Cheers,
The TREW CREW

Probably would have been better to start a new thread for the Trew Party, but could be a good place for everyone to crash if the beer runs dry early at the Sandbar Party.

It was amazzing to see what determination can do. A bunch of kiters moved virtually every large piece of wood and a bunch of small ones from the windward side of the sandbar and most of it from the whole place, into one big pile. People used their pickups and suv's to haul and tow pieces of trees to the pile. Great fun. One chain saw, a few shovels and pry bars was all we had. The rest was just determination.

Thanks to Naish for supporting the Kite Association effort. Fun visiting with folks. I didn't last thru the first party at the beach. Recovered enough to go back and try some kiting today on a nice clean beach.
