Kiteboarding in Bahrain?

I'm travelling to Bahrain in June to work on a project. A quick search on the web suggests this is rather bleak place for kiting. The only reference I've found is to Amwaj Islands which are supposedly OK, but it is still a big construction site north of the airport.

Has anyone any suggestions, tips, alternative locations about Bahrain? I'm going to be on site for one week only - not enough time to visit other places in the region.

Thanks - Bahrain Airport is not far from Amwaj islands so the link should be useful for that place. I am looking for other options though, options that would not involve active construction sites and being chased off by local police.
