I moved over here 5 months ago, have been getting lots of water time. Below are a couple pics from Fraser Island and a spot just north of Noosa. Thought I would share a few warm water pics for you cold water lovers Very Happy

I spent 8 weeks in Melbourne, no pictures from there but would be a great spot to vacation if you want flat water kiting and a great city to hang at 15 minutes away.

(sorry about the picture size, whats the limit for posting pics?)

Cheers,

Ryan

Ryan if you size the photos down to 1024 or smaller they will show up.

We are planning a trip next year, if you had to short list 5 spots in the country to hit what would they be?

Looks sooo nice. Need to get all the way "down under" sometime in this lifetime...

T-Ski and I made it to the Cook Islands a few years back. Wished we had a few more weeks to explore New Zealand and Australia as we were only a few hours away by plane.

Are you planning on coming over to kite or to see australia? The top five kite spots and the top five spots in australia are vastly different [as strange as that may sound to most die hard nwkiters Shocked ]

I kited for 3 years in Oz and the best place for all questions is seabreeze.com.au
Go to the Graphs area as they have very accurate forcasts for all coastlines and the forum is pretty much the only site used in AU so lots of info.

PKH, thats a hard one, its a big country. Depends on if you want wave, flat water, etc. i assume you will be down here for the Oz summer. I can only speak of the places i have been but this is what i have seen.

SE Queensland, flat and waves good wind from the SE, must have a car. usually on my 11 rev, some days are windier.

NSW, I kited Merimbula in far south NSW. good spot but a bit isolated and more difficult to get to, good waves. 11m rev.

Melbourne/Port philip bay, good flat water with seabreeze nearly everyday. I kited almost everyday afterwork there. the beaches are an hour or 2 away with some good surf and kiting. Of course the people there are fantastic (right Tan!!!!). Almost always on my 11 rev, very few days were a smaller kite was needed.

Other spots would be WA were gene and a couple others went, not a warm as the east coast and bigger waves and the winds are stronger from what i hear. I hear the south coast is nice as well, Esperance area but havent been to WA yet.

hope this helps. let me know if you want more info.
