What surface is preferred on the skim board? plain, texture deck or pads? Seems like having texture deck would be most optimal?

It all depends on personal preferance. Some guys use a rear pad with wax up front, some use all wax, some use all pads, and some use all pads with wax on the pads. My issue with wax is that you are constanly applying it and it holds a shit load of sand. Pads are low maintenance and easy on the feet

Yeah, seems like wax is a lot of hassle. How about texture deck? That seems like clean permanent solution that would give enough traction? Or would it also require wax?

Cannot dig up a lot of info on their site on this one, other than just being mentioned.

None of the Roush decks I have seen are "textured" enough for riding without any other traction pad or wax.

I use this NSI stuff. It is clear and works as good as wax probably not as good as deck pads. I'm also just about always in booties.

Definitely drop in to NSI in HR and sample all the traction options they have.

Thanks for all the answers. I guess I will go with NSI clear grip traction stuff.

Hein, does NSI have a store? Website lists distributors, but doesn't mention any NSI brick and mortar location. Same as mailing address, I presume?

You can order direct through NSI's website, either that or you can stop by 2nd Wind. I know Pepi has an account with them

We sell the NSI deck pad products, as well we will have Surftech skimboards in our demo fleet for people to 'try before you buy'.

Give me, Mike or Nate a shout at the shop if you have any questions.
