Anyone headed out for some westerlies tomorrow? Sounds like HR east is the best bet.

Is "The Place That Shall Not be Named" that is just 15 min east of hood river on the Washington side still underwater?

Haha that's funny. I was talking 2009 not 1977 :O)

Was out there today... 10:30A - 12:30P. Super gusty and lulls killed you! No fun... Plus the rain didn't help! I did however get to test out my NPX Lucifer Drysuit for the first time. Worked awesome!!! especially with the rain! Very Happy

LOL... Yeah I know... I just bought it and I had to test it!!! To be honest it felt a lot colder today on the water than last week! Snow is back in the hills in the Gorge!!! The suit worked perfect!!!

They always did manage to pull out all the stops at the Garden. Of course, tomorrow would be the day to bust out that dusty old Cornell SBD...

I hereby declare 5/8/09 to be the day for steady westerlies.

Really though it looks like maybe no rain tomorrow and Saturday.

Moderate westerlies continuing Friday through the weekend.
The North Pacific High will hold position off the Pacific Northwest coast through the weekend. However, high pressure will spread over the Gorge as well, weakening gradients from today's numbers. Not expecting outstanding winds, but some moderate winds into the upper teens to around 20. What might make the trip more tempting is that temperatures will be warming up nicely well into the 60's so maybe you'll want to get on the water anyway. Meanwhile, some solid NNW winds get going at the south coast. Then, by Sunday the next trough will be approaching and we'll see weakened winds.

Friday:
Modest westerlies notching back from Thursday. Winds reaching the weak upper teens in the Corridor and the upper teens to maybe 20 in the East. Temperatures climbing into the low to mid 60's. Might try the southern OR coast, NW winds reaching the low to mid 20's, strongest from Florence to Cape Blanco.

Saturday:
Slightly tighter gradients expected. Winds reaching the upper teens in the Corridor and the near to weak low 20's in the East. Temperatures reaching upper 60's. The South Coast remains solid with NNW winds in the low to mid 20's.

Sunday:
Milder westerly winds possibly beginning to trend easterly as the next trough approaches. Low to mid teens at best.

Man... I just found a 1" tear on my leading edge. The bladder isn't damaged. It happened on one of my launch attempts... The wind died and it stalled and landed on the branch on the beach. Didn't find it until after I got home to air dry the kite. How much would Airtime charge for a repair like this? Are they pretty quick with repairs??? I'm going to send it tomorrow as I wouldn't have time to drive there until late next week. It's my 10M so I'm bummed! Evil or Very Mad
