Holy crap this is starting to consume me!
I'm thinking about getting a wakeskate to kite with.
Anyone know what works?!?!?
What have people used with a kite?

I'm thinking something like the LF Anthem or Faction.
Looking for something on the cheaper side. Probably won't be able to afford the new LF Varial or anything like that.

Ask on da Scoop dude. I know Jason Stone has ridden a bunch and probably some others too. They'll give you good info.

I rode my wooden wakeskate behind a kite. Its fun but you need to be REALLY well powered so maybe one that has a little less rocker than normal. The float from a poly constructed model would probably help as well.

Yeah Gene, I posted there too

Just looking for advice anywhere I can get it.

I've been looking at this site: http://www.wakeworld.com/Skates/
It seems to have really good information about the boards including how much rocker and weight they have.
The anthem 44 is looking pretty good and cheap.
Anyone ridden it?
Any demos anywhere?
Most of the LF skates seem like they have less rocker than others.

Hey stinger.

I have an Anthem 44. I am leaving for Texas tomorrow for a few weeks, but will try to remember to drop it off at 2nd Wind in Hood River for you to pick up and demo. No Problem.

The Varial is definitely the best kite skate for a variety of reasons.. including a flatter rocker as well as PMB stated it's got molded poly construction, so big fat tips and thicker profile add a bit of float.

Did you check out Kevin Steen riding the LF Varial in the Scoop Troop skate box on his web video blog? (steenfilms.com)

The Anthem 44 may work fine for you, as you're not quite as hefty as I am Smile but I haven't really found a skate that my fat ass can kite.. which is why I started skimming in the first place.

Don't want to let too much out of the bag.. but LF is working on a new skim/skate design to allow skate style moves on skim style planing ability. Should have some proto's floating around by summer and will share with the crew to help get feedback for the perfect combo skim style skate style kiteboard.

Stringer..

Tekko let me hang on to the Armada from LF...It's the one we used behind the winch.....So it's in my garage and let's go shred it!!!
http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://images.proboardshop.com/lf-armada-43-08-prod.jpg&imgrefurl=https://www.proboardshop.com/wklf43ar8zz-liquidforce-wakeskates.html&usg=__gk2FwCwKhNSRXGwTQN_iNyNd6So=&h=300&w=254&sz=16&hl=en&start=1&um=1&tbnid=i4VbWQr7mitBDM:&tbnh=116&tbnw=98&prev=/images%3Fq%3DLF%2BArmada%2Bwakeskate%26hl%3Den%26rls%3Dcom.microsoft:en-us:IE-SearchBox%26rlz%3D1I7IBMA%26sa%3DN%26um%3D1

I agree most LF skates have less rocker than a lot of other companies.. I think the bi-level ones are not right for the kite...Stone said he tried one, but they kept digging in too much when edging...So I think the LF's might be close the the best option currently.. nice flat-spot in the middle of the LF ones, even a little concave..
Let's take it out this weekend...blake rode it last weekend and liked it waaay better than my Hyperlite...

why don't you ask Hein to make you one Wink

anyways, I like what Tekko's saying about LF's new ideas!!!!!!!

Im not too knowledgeable about the skates but I know that the scoop will answer your question regarding skates for sure. There are a lot of people that ride skates a fair amount overt there.

Hey Stringer :

Tekko dropped off the demo wakeskate at 2nd Wind, so swing on by before you hit the water.

Pepi

BTW - Grind boards should be coming anytime soon within the next week. Will keep you posted.

Sweet!!!
Is anyone is going to the Stevenson cleanup from Hood River that can pick it up on the way out?
Doesn't make sense to drive out to hood and back to stevie if people are already making the route.
