Wed Apr 22, 09 4:01 pm SPI KITE ROUND-UP VOLUNTEERS / DISCOUNTS!! |
|
|
howdy y'all, got a quick update and an opportunity for some lucky kiters.....
We have been working hard these last few weeks to make sure the ROUND-UP will be the most KILLER event you all have experienced (check the updated schedule, the updated brand demo list, and the updated clinic list (still in progress).
www.spikiteroundup.com
But of course, to make everything run smoothly and provide the best possible experience for all, we are going to need some day to day help.
VOLUNTEERS: we are happy to offer 1/2 price registration for either category (competitor or participant) for anyone willing to help us with some of the many elements of this event. Volunteers will be expected to help with about 8 hrs of work distributed over many or a few days (we'll sort it out)
some volunteer activities will be:
Event Site Setup / Tear Down (stage, main event, winch area, and more)
Kite Assistants (helping riders get out on the water for event heats)
Trainer Kite Clinic Assistants
Winch Drivers (certified only, of course)
also
water balloon slingshot operators
beach bunnies
gojo inflators / fluffers (super important)
rail waxers
sunblock appliers
and whatever else you all think we might need that we forgot
send me a pm or email:
chubasco@spikiteroundup.com
if you would like to help out!
thanks a bunch nw kiter's for helping making this event awesome, you all rock, and we're looking forward to seeing everyone down here for a great season opener. |

| Hey Brett, I'm happy to drive the Grinch as I've done a bunch of it already. I can't really commit to 8 hours due to having a newborn and this trip being a working vacation, but I'll do what I can. No need for a discount since I can't give you a commitment. |

Sounds like an amazing event!!
Well done Chubasco for doing such a great job all winter to make this event happen!!
I will be there to help, with whatever you need... but probably most qualified at the gojoe fluffing.
Packed and ready, waiting for Fedex truck today and a little more biz, then pointing the LF van straight towards the promised land!! _________________ Liquid Force Kiteboarding in the Pacific Northwest.
Demo's always available to those on this forum.. PM me to schedule. |

One 12 miler yesterday on 8's, two five milers today on 6's. The waves are building and cleaning up nicely! And it's warm!
See you guys soon.

I am so tired and sore from too much kiteboarding waaa waaa waaa. waves and surf everyday. more waves, more turns, more surf. they just keep coming at me. they never stop. I hear them in my sleep. oh yea, we live on the beach and can hear the waves all night long and I'm missing one. oh no, there goes another one. no wait, 3 waves break every 5 seconds outside my patio so I missed 3 but I can only ride 1 at a time. which one to catch? big ones are outside but nobody knows you're there. But who cares if you look good on a small wave? how can I sleep with all this noise and decisions? Last edited by carolb on Fri Apr 24, 09 9:14 am; edited 1 time in total |
