OK, everyone has been telling me for the last couple of days that SI will go off tonight. I have had my doubts since I don't give much credibility to forecasts that are more than 1-day out (shit I don't even trust same day forecasts really), plus all that nice heating has gone away.

That said it looks like it's already working, but it might be too west. SI sux if its even slightly offshore because of the cotton wood rotor near the beach.

I'll probably give it a shot, but I'm NOT predicting it will be good.

I have a new philosophy that I'm adopting from a good friend who always says, "I can either be timely or accurate, but not both". So from now on I will only be predicting conditions AFTER they happen Wink That will ensure my forecasts are accurate (past-casts?).

Jones will probably be insane.

Stevenson would be a better use of gas money today.

Slightly offshore, which is bad news at SI, and COLD. A few die-hards showed and had short sessions.

1 trip to Stevenson>3 trips to SI except most of the time when its 1 trip to Stevenson>1 trip to SI or if its a NW wind its worth the wait on the I5 to head to Woodland, or Kalama in a North wind.

Lol, for folks in Hillsboro, you might as well suggest we kite in Maui after work.

I can get to the coast quicker than I can get to Jansen beach at rush hour.

If I left for Stevenson or Kalama at 4pm from where I live, I'd get there about dark-thirty. Jones is much closer than either in terms of travel time at that time of day. But I'd only get to kite for maybe an hour if I tried to get to Jones after work and I'd be way more pissed if I got skunked after having driven way out there. For me, Sauvies is 30-35 minutes max at rush hour.

I've hit SI at 2.30 today. A little bit gusty but I had a good session with my 10.5m. Beginning of the session was really good but then wind got down.
I started alone but few other people showed up.
I left around 5, and it seemed that wind wasn't that great at that time (usually it will be the time when wind picks up there).
It was cold though, even with gloves. I heard session from the past 2 previous days were better especially with the weather. Well, that was good enough for me to kick-off my kite season.
see you out there guys.

Ok... so who rode yesterday? Was it any good after 5PM? or did it shut down for the rest of the evening? The iKitesurf's forecast for today (Thursday) is:

Western Gorge: Marine clouds hanging around. Winds topping in the lower teens at Jones Beach. Slightly stronger at Sauvie's, but not much.

I'm debating going out or not.
