| Not sure on a good place to stay, but the primetime for wind is June through August/Sept. |

Yeah, June-Sep is pretty good, but July-Aug is the most consistent. Usually blows somewhere on the river during that time, but there's still an occasional few days or even a week without much wind. _________________ The Slider Project, LLC

If you happen to be so unlucky as to be here during a no wind period, you can go to the beach. No wind in the Gorge, then it is windy at the beach.
Don't worry about it, 4th of July thru Labor day, nice weather, nice water. Rent a vehicle so you can drive to where it is windy. _________________ gorge geezer |

| we have found that the best place to stay is the comfort suites its like 3 min out of downtown Hood River. Just make sure you book up at least 2 to 3 weeks ahead of time cuz they do book up. |

I'm going to have to go with kidcorporate's suggestion. Your going to have the best chances at kiteboarding when its windy. 27 west at stvensburg right now |
