I think that is a pretty optimistic take on kite boarding this weekend. In celebration of ikitesurf's human forecast starting I thought i would post it up. As of 11:30, Roosevelt is blowing 7 W
Ridging over the Gorge will result in weak winds over the weekend as temperatures climb through Monday.
A ridge of high pressure will build over the Pacific Northwest over the weekend and looks to peak on Monday. This will result in wonderful weather, from a temperature point of view. However, winds will be pretty dismal. Moderate AM easterlies Saturday with mild PM westerlies. Light afternoon westerlies on Sunday and Monday.
Saturday:
Moderate easterly gradients to start out the day favors the western Gorge for a 18-22 range with the Corridor in the 13-17 range. However, gradients will be plummeting and afternoon mild westerlies are expected. Calm at the Coast.
Sunday:
The high pressure ridge expands over the region and gradients remain weak. Afternoon westerlies reaching the 14-18 range for the western Gorge and Corridor, weaker to the east. The Coast looks to be flat, with maybe low teens at best.
Monday:
Similar plight on Monday as heating trend peaks. Afternoon westerlies reaching the 15-19 range for the western Gorge and Corridor, weaker to the east. Still pretty dead at the Coast with low teens.
Looks like winch time. |

| the winds right now are generated by the leading edge of the cold front moving through the gorge. Typically, those winds are pretty punchy and dirty and don't last that long. Clouds and clean wind don't usually go together so well. May be good for a quick session if you time it right. |

| Yeah! Didn't know the human forecast was back. That's a good sign. Thanks for the update. Guess, I agreed with you; decided to stay home this weekend and not drive myself crazy in the Gorge. Swam laps at the Y with the fat ladies instead. |
