He Does!

Super mellow, soft spoken guy to. I met him briefly a few years back when he was in town for a tow in contest that happens here ( no free press for the organizer) and I was impressed at his lack of ego and attitude for someone who is so accomplished and respected.

Good article on him and his dad in the current issue of Surfer to.

Yes!! Josh Rips!! As Tim said, no ego or attitude, just a stoked guy who loves to surf, with and without a kite.

Liquid Force was pleased and proud to bring Josh onto the LF Team this year. Josh has spent years traveling for surf and in the past few years has ended up on a number of trips with LF riders Moehau Goold and Mauricio Abreu. He knew the kites worked, but really it was the LF Project Rawson Surfboards that really had Josh interested in LF.

Check out Josh describing the benefits of and reasons for why he and other's should ride LF Rawson Kite Surfboards as well as some insight from the master shaper Pat Rawson Here:
http://www.liquidforcekites.com/LFTV/1/2009/03/Wadarawsonmorris

We are currently working on planning a late/summer fall OR/WA coast wave trip with Josh Mulcoy and other top LF rippers, including demo's and clinics. Stay tuned for details...

Norby- you get yourself a new LF Rawson 6er yet?? They look SICK!!

2nd Wind in Hood River just received their first order and the surfboards look and feel better than ever!! Demo's always available... PM me to set up a time/place. If you are serious about your riding in the surf, then you should be serious about choosing the right tools...

Yeah...it's on its way soon.
I am stoked to have one for the summer.

When you come here for your trip hit me up.
Would like to meet Josh. Maybe cook up some chinook salmon on the barbeque here in Astoria.

Oregon Field guide is doing a story on my wife and I----kiteboarding on the coast--- I will be giving props to LF for all the support since 2001.

Hein. Good to see you up on the hill the other day!! Such a good one.. except all the people stuck at HRM for so long cutting it all up. First few runs were SICK though!!

Josh was the first guy I ever personally saw riding legit surf style hooked in!! I know.. it's crazy, but this guy, and Sky Solbach and others really have shown it's possible to surf hooked in and still make legit turns and make it look good.

So no pully bar needed for this guy Smile I gave mine up when I started for LF and started riding 'stock' gear and SLE's...

But just ask Joby or jake.. the LF HiFi is a sick little unit on a pully bar!!! Let me know when you want to give one a try Wink

mix it up,,, ya?

went over to express when I saw the herd gathering at the top or HRM.
Patrol let us under the rope at the top of rock garden and made it down
before the Chinese downhill from the top of HRM. Got another loop and
then had to go find it. Twilight Zone Day at Meadows. Snow devil in the
lift line set the stage. 14" of eerie season ending sickness.

You can't downloop for legitimate unpowered bottom turns and carves off the lip.
Downlooping takes all the power out of the kite for that few seconds where the rider is actually forced to surf the board and keep trim speed.

I love downlooping---carving a bottom turn with no power in the kite--going up the face and making a carve off the lip right as the kite flys back into power....and again...and again.....switching from kite power to the wave's energy.

Flying the kite up high overhead, back and forth, creates a constant lift off the board.....can't drive the board with your weight using the energy of the WAVE instead of the kite.
IMHO...it doesn't seem as legit unhooked with your arms pulled to full extension above your head. Looks strange to a traditional surfer.

I used pulley bars in the summer of 2007 but I could not feel the wave when the kite was always pulling my attention.
Went back to hooked in kite finesse.

But Hein definitely has the pulley style mastered----I have watched him make it look real good.

One of my favorite things about guys like mulcoy and alldredge is how they rely more on the wave and less on their kites to ride. makes their style look way better than most other kiters who will go way out infront of the wave instead of trying to stay moe in the pocket like mulcoy and alldredge

I agree Drock. In the pocket and multiple hits, not just one and then out in to the flats.

If you want some more wave action check out "Soul Fly." Tons of Mulcoy and Peter Trow.
