Think of making the trip up tomorrow for the 20+ forecast, so anyone else going?

I just heard that the USFS closed Lyle for the duck migration. Lets not get that place permanently closed down, the sand bar should be good.

So you think the Spit might put out?

I think tomorrow would be a nice day for a drive to HR.

I don't understand people kiting at the sandbar when it is cloudy, extra gusty, and rain squally in the Spring/Fall. You can almost always find clearer skies, steadier winds, and warmer temperatures by driving East anywhere from Mosier to Roosevelt.

EASTERN COLUMBIA RIVER GORGE - INCLUDING THE CITIES OF...THE DALLES...WHITE SALMON 345 AM PDT SUN MAR 22 2009 .
TODAY...MOSTLY CLOUDY WITH SCATTERED SHOWERS. BREEZY. HIGHS 50 TO 55. WEST WIND 15 TO 25 MPH. CHANCE OF PRECIPITATION 50 PERCENT.

Doesn't that sound better than kiting in thunderstorms and hail?

Spring gusties suck. squal winds yuck. 1200ft snow level = COLD. If your under clouds it will be horrid.

http://weather.unisys.com/eta/12h/eta_pres_12h.gif?2894852

does show some good wind this afternoon out east, If your under clouds it will be horrid. Go to Arlington, Roosevelt or Three Mile, if it is on-shore at Rufus. Seek Sun.

Tuesday will be good as well, but I pick later in the week as the temps get reasonable. Cool

Mountain looks good still and the pass isn't paid for yet Evil or Very Mad

Let's hear about it, that's if your hands don't freeze off.

F'n damn termpermental wind forecasts!!! Evil or Very Mad Yesterday, the wind was predicted to be pretty good in the gorge, and today.....not unless you want to drive for hours....and want to fight through the highs/lows. I guess I will just have to wait until next weekend. Crying or Very sad

it is f'ning ON today, fucking ikitesuck is broken, so i'll just have to use NWS

Today: A 50 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 50. Breezy, with a west wind between 17 and 23 mph, with gusts as high as 32 mph.

well, 17 - 23 w/ gusts to 32 IS pretty f'cking good for Hood River in the spring. not to mention it looks rather sunny out my window.

if we kite today, that will make 3 out of the last 4 days, spring is officially HERE Exclamation

Looks like Rowena or Dougs is the call to me. It would be nice to see more kiters at these spots this year. I'm heading that way around noon. Doesn't look like the clouds/rain are making out there right now.

So, did you bums get any today? Meadows had some heavy snow at times and was fun minus the occasional crowd.
