I hope this does not go against the vs thread policy on this forum but I think I am safe because they are the same brand. I am considering these kites among a few others. I probably won't be unhooking but the quick turning of the RPM looks like what I had been missing from my 06 Vegas's. I want to try to get away with a two kite quiver (economics/ simplicity). Since the NW is the home to Slingshot I assume someone has experience with both kites. Is the wind range the same on both kites or is it slightly smaller on the RPM? I figure 10/11 would be the big kite.

From all of my playing around on both, they're pretty close, though it depends what settings you are on. When the RPM is in its REV-like mode, it feels like a REV, just unhooks a bit better. Still turns quick and has good range, but the shut-off felt in the bar is a bit different (RPM isn't quite as feathered). When the RPM is setup in freestyle mode, it's different. Unhooks much more like the FUELs, looses some depower/range, and turns like more like a C-kite.

Adam, how is the boostability between the two modes? I heard they can have explosive take off when in "c" mode. I kind of miss that C kite take off but never really returned fully to C's because of the range issue.

For the Gorge and this upcoming epic high wind season I would recommend the 10- and 6 RPM combo if not the 7-11 REV combo. Great 2 kite quivers for a high wind area.
You can mix and match your kites and brands but truth is; its always nice to have the same gear or type.
Once the season starts to hit, I will put on a non-formal demo of the new gear at whatever location seems to be firing. Demo days are a great way just to figure it all out and compare whats out there without having to read and decode what other people think.
Updates with regards to the demos will be posted a couple dayz in advance.
Its about to pop! _________________ https://www.hipcamp.com/discover/washington/windwoodrivers

Thanks guys. The 7/11 Rev combo sounds good. I am about 215. I have a skim for fooling around in the light stuff.

Under normal conditions (and compared to a REV in the same wind), the RPMs feel like they boost better/floatier when they're more REVish. When the wind's nukin' (RR or Rufus style), and you send them hard on the freestyle settings, they have that FUEL snap. Amery was testing the 8m when he SUPER-whooptied and almost took out the windsurfer...
