7th Annual SILVER KING FREERIDE
Big Mountain Ski & Snowboard Competition
Crystal Mountain, WA
IFSA Freeskiing World Tour Qualifier
March 5-8, 2009

Annual competition that strays from a man-made race course and instead works with the mountain’s natural features. SKF competitors choose cliffs, steep terrain, and speed to increase the difficulty and technicality of their run. In the last 7 years, the annual Silver King Freeride has become a showcase for freeriding progression; skiers and snowboarders are continuously seeking to achieve what’s just beyond what’s been achieved before as they try to win the top cash awards and prizes.

In the past the first place finishers, both male and female skiers were awarded pre qualification to the IFSA World Tour. This year the IFSA will award the top 2 men and top 2 women skiers a pre qualification to the IFSA World Tour. The goal is to have this number grow in the future and to provide more opportunities for athletes to gain World Tour qualification status.

With the highly respected venue of the Silver King at Crystal Mountain, the IFSA has always felt the top finishers of this event as well as the MC organizers, deserves the recognition of World Tour qualification status. The IFSA is very excited to offer this and to help promote this outstanding freeskiing event. Get registered today before space runs out. Go online to http://www.mountainchallenge.org to register.
