Saint Helens gave up the goods today. Didn't post before hand because my son was going to bring his girl friend but she canceled at the last moment. Had a great time until we got back to the car and found a $75 ticket for parking close to ski/snow shoe lot. Ranger must have used the whole ticket book viewing all the vehicles tagged.

Very cool! It's great to see guys getting such awesome snowkiting in so close to home.
I forgot to post this on your last thread, but much respect to you guys for offering to bring other nwKiters along on some of your expeditions.

Next time you guys go hit me up and I'll follow you up. I was hoping to go today but looks like the wind is dead. Been wanting to hit St Helens for months now just don't know were to go. Plus the wind gods haven't liked me for months now
Looks like you had fun. What part of St Helens were you at?

I think we were at the Plains of Abraham but I’m still exploring the area. It would be good to get a group together before the season ends. Looks like snow level is coming down by next weekend. That’s good news for Snowdaze kiters, unfortunately I can’t swing that trip. Current St. Helens forecast is:
WAZ019-040-020615-
SOUTH WASHINGTON CASCADES-SOUTH WASHINGTON CASCADE FOOTHILLS-
INCLUDING THE CITIES OF...COLDWATER VISITORS CENTER...MT ST
HELENS...WIND RIVER VALLEY...MERWIN LAKE...YALE LAKE...COUGAR
300 PM PST SUN MAR 1 2009
.WEDNESDAY...RAIN AND SNOW LIKELY. SNOW LEVEL 2500 FEET.
.WEDNESDAY NIGHT...RAIN AND SNOW LIKELY. SNOW LEVEL 2500 FEET.
.THURSDAY...RAIN AND SNOW. SNOW LEVEL 2500 FEET.
.THURSDAY NIGHT...RAIN AND SNOW SHOWERS LIKELY. SNOW LEVEL
1500 FEET.
.FRIDAY...MOSTLY CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF RAIN AND SNOW SHOWERS. SNOW
LEVEL 1500 FEET.
.FRIDAY NIGHT...MOSTLY CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF SHOWERS. SNOW LEVEL
2500 FEET.
.SATURDAY...PARTLY CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF SHOWERS. SNOW LEVEL 2500
FEET.
.SATURDAY NIGHT...PARTLY CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF SHOWERS. SNOW LEVEL
2000 FEET.
.SUNDAY...PARTLY CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF SHOWERS. SNOW LEVEL 2000
FEET.
Friday, Saturday or Sunday may work but that’s still a ways out and may change. If your not heading south to Snowdaze lets try to get up on mountain next weekend. I’ll post later this week once the weather window firms up.

very cool.
I would love to go, looks epic. I just got new skis
Also, if anyone wants to hit Mt Hood, let me know, I'd like to go up with a partner....
I'm down to go any weekend day, and any other day with about a day's notice.

We need to grab Jonathan for a trip |
I'm off all this week. Also off work the weeks of 3/16 and 3/30. Did Neal ride on skis or a snowboard?

Neil wanted to try skis but hadn't been skiing since he was 9. His first kite pull ended in face plant. He played around a bit more with couple of good pulls but similar style results with turn. In the end he nixed kite and we used sled to get him up hill so he could practice skiing. After a couple slides down he was doing much better. If he decides to use skis again I'm sure he'll have better results.
I agree with Gman, we need to get you out on snow kite adventure, you'll love it.

Why didn't Neal ride a snowboard? I know he's got skills.
