I have a $750 grant to spend on mini-video for 8th graders to film conservation of momentum experiments. They design it, film it, download it and use the fact that at x frames per second you can calculate velocity using stop/go frame by frame and measure the distance object travel in x frames: golf balls hitting golf balls etc. You then measure mass and m1v1 = m2v2.
In the past 30f/sec was fine, but a bit blurry. I see the Vados for $79, Kodacs for $150 ish and so forth. Problem is I need at least 4, 6 would be better and 8 would be awesome. But, will the resolution on a $79 render it worthless?
A lot to balance. Any suggested models from folks in the know? Suggesting a $300 camera is worthless, as two cameras for two science classes of 30 each won't work.

Are you planning multiple shoots or just a one day event? If it's only one day, you might be better off renting some equipment. That'll give you by far the best quality to budget ratio, and I'm sure a reputable dealer will give you an education discount. _________________ Order your copy of Present Tense today at http://cineaptic.bigcartel.com/product/present-tense-dvd |

That's an excellent idea. I will see if anyone in HR can do that. We do require the cameras for a week, or so though, and need several.
