These kites have really proven themselves over the years.
Superior in many ways
Most local riders at Florence ride Fuels
They seem to always be getting used kites.
Are they just cheap or is there something in particular they seeking?
In other words what are the differences in this years model and some other years?
These bridal kites are starting to really piss me off. (different issue)

Cheap would be the first guess. Nowadays you couldn't give a C kite to someone. But there still is a 3% that won't change. C kites have a riding style all to their own and the riders that ride them know what i'm talking about.
Kite boarding has progress tons with the advent of the SLE and Bow. If it wasn't for them we would be still riding non-crowed beaches. Back then riders took a pounding and not all people could progress fast enough for them to enjoy the sport as we know it. So they quit... But not anymore. Kite boarding is becoming more mainstream and with that comes all the positives and negatives of it growing up.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Were you talking about the 09 Fuel or 09 Rev...?
If you were talking about the 09 REV.
The biggest difference between the 08 Rev and 09 Rev is that the kite flys smoother than ever. Other than a couple upgrades Slingshot didn't want to screw up a good thing. I have listed below the new features that you will see on the 09 Rev.
New Features on the Slingshot Rev 09 are...
1-Surf Proof Seams – Surf Proof seams makes the kite stronger and more durable. When the kite is dropped in the surf or the shore dump it will withstand the punishment. These seams really tighten up the canpoy, which leads to better flying characteristic's, holds its shape better in high gusty winds, and prevents blowouts when dropped in heavy surf
2- Bar Pressure Adjustment Tabs – You can adjust the rear line pigtails (3 options) so that you can ADD bar pressure. If you’re coming from a C shape kite you will know all about bar pressure and how important it is to be able to feel where the kite is in the sky without having to look at it all the time. The bar pressure adjustment tabs will also help beginners as they will be able to feel where the kite is when in the air. Unlike some brands where the bar is super light and you have to keep an eye on the kite at all times.
3- The Control Bar – The Slingshot Rev 09 has a new bar, with a softer grip and the diameter of the hole has been increased. This will reduce chicken rope wear considerably. The softer grip will stop forearm fatigue caused by long sessions on the water. The new bar features will give you a better grip for when you are carrying out unhooked tricks.
Hopefully this clears up the fog.

I think this a positive upgrade for 09. I see that you went back to the zig-zag stitching on the struts. This will probably make the kite more east wind proof as well.

Well, the first feature would be that it went back to its roots.
4-line...
With that you will have a similar bar to the REV, with C.S.S. Having 4-line below the bar safety is the first for a 4-line C kite...
Kite design is mid aspect with wider wing tips for better pop, added low-end, stability, and relaunch. Split strut has been removed for easier repair and weight reduction. Knuckles/elbow joints at the wing tips to aid in better low end range, depower, and relaunch.
Also its been fined tune to LOOP LIKE HELL! Ruben is a mad man and those days that he was here was epic for the development of the 09 Fuel. Basically the Fuel was design around how Ruben rides.
The rest is simple, its just a C kite and they been around for years. Theres always room for refinement year after year, after year, after year...
C KITES 4 LIFE

| I searched but couldn't find anything. In a pinch or as a backup, can the '09 directdrive bar and line for the revs work w/a fuel? Also, can it be used without line length adjustments. Seems like it would. Thanks.

I made the promo REV video, Len10 watch out here I come. I liked the kite so much I bought a 9-11-13 REV. 13 more sleeps and I leave to Cabarete on Feb 28 for 42 straight days of kiting.
Thanks again Shymac

yes and vice versa as well, the 09 profirebar and 09 directdrive bar are very similiar. The only difference i could tell was the color of the actual bar grip and the color of the safety release on the leash.
i'd also like to add my thoughts on the 09 Rev2 7m here. first IMO, it flies ALOT faster than last years, and has less bar pressure on the lightest setting. very zippy kite, i was out on a 7m when everyone else was on 9m or 11m kites.
