I live in the Gorge, and want to try out snow kiting, but have no idea where to start... I have REVs and know how to kiteboard fine, but don't feel totally confident going out to do this by myself.
Any suggestions where I might look to meet up with others doing this around here? Does it matter skis or snowboard? How does the kite sizing and wind compare to being on the water? Where do people do this around here? Is there a good newb spot in the gorge?
Thanks. _________________ JHB |

best stuff is a day's drive.

check these for spots in souther OR, gorge, and WA.
There are spots still open in Bend.
For super-local timberline's your best bet, but not for learning.
you can rig smaller kites because you dont' sink in the snow. skis/board doesn't matter whatever your comfortable with or feel like riding.
Mt haggin MT, Georgetown lake MT, and Camas ID are options, better for learning. Great meadow for leaning in southern or. and probably some learning spots in bend. have fun and wear a helmet. |
