Mon Feb 02, 09 4:11 pm slingshot recoil wake board Driver boot reviews.. |
|
|
Wanted to get an idea of what people thought of this combo for kiteboarding. I would like to get (yet another) board setup for this summer and thought a wakeboard would be good for winching and sliders and practicing wake style moves. At the very least I can walk around with a board with bindings and act superior.
I've got a line on a pretty good deal on the combo just wanted to know if they were trash or not. I do recall someone saying the SS boots fall apart? |

I ride a 142 response & D2's behind the boat, on the cable, and kiting. Love the set up.
Think continuous rocker might be better for kiting than 3 stage.
Reflex looks really sick too, best of both worlds. |

Hola peeps. The Driver boots are money and are a sick pair of boots to shralp behind the kite. As far as the board, I would recommend getting a response, not a recoil. The response will ride better upwind, and feels more right behind the kite. The recoil feels like it has a lot of rocker, and is almost impossible to ride upwind unless you are LIT. But yeah everything falls apart eventually, and Im sure any pre mature breakage would be easily taken care of by just letting slingy know the deal!! _________________ I heart dangling |

I agree. You would problaly have a hard time with the recoil. the 3 stage rocker will make the board a lot slower and harder to go up wind. I rode the D2's all last summer behind the boat and really didnt have any problems with them. But the PB's would be cool to try for kiting because of the 1 string lace system. Cant wait to see what the reflex rides like.
btw. boots are far superior to sandles. you just have to get over the fact that it takes a second to put on the boots. _________________ Keep livin' the dream. |

| thanks for the input guys. Seems like I should be seeking out a response. Or perhaps a LF recoil.. |

Check Mission or Concept by LF if you can before you go LF Recoil. Those boards work better under boots. _________________ The Slider Project, LLC

If you want something you can ride behind the boat, cable, and kite definitely go for the Response or even the new reflex works good! Personally I would get a slingy wakeboard for behind the kite before any kiteboard! _________________ I heart dangling |
