Gravity. Seriously, if you don't know the answer to that then you should try snowboarding on a real mountain with real snow. Its a far cry from busting 5 foot backrolls in some farmers field.
snow kiting is a little like kite surfing. Its kind of like it, but not really. Snowboarding in good conditions is just more pure. None of that kite shit to pay attention to. Just you and the mountain. |

Yes indeed, steep/cold/deep/long are great for skiing/boarding and agree that like surfing, it is the pure form. So in those Chasta vids where he's on a real mountain in real snow busting 75' 40 second backrolls is a far cry? Can't agree really but see some of your point.
But based on the Yooooo post and this, we can all agree that we goto Hood/Bachelor because it is available not because it is a good mountain. There's not a challenging pitch on it except maybe from the top. |

barfly's got it..
monkey, watch the dimensions video again, and again, and again... And the 2 before it.. There are some cool features they ride in it.....
I like the idea of riding uphill to my line, then dropping in, then riding the flats, then repeat!
... Seems like Aaron Sales and Jacob got to feel the G's in AK this summer.
Oh, and never before, EVER, could any snowboarder/skier throw wakestyle moves on snow.... that's what got me hooked right there.

Doing big jumps on 4 lines takes more than skill
It takes some luck as well
but I'm a pussy when it comes to hard shit and my body
Trying to get a kite down a mountain with the wind pulling you the other way is a little harder than the vids look.
(without being 70' in the air)
But it's still fun to have another sport in the quiver
I would think the wakers would love it |
