Here's another reason to snowkite instead: There's a recent thread at turns-all-year about a couple of skiers who were abandoned early this season on a lift at Crystal Mtn for 30-45 minutes at the end of the day. At the time, the management appears to have given them the "I'm sorry but shit happens" treatment, and more recently they claim that it was a power outage and the backup generator wasn't working properly. The skiers were told that they would not get refunds or lift ticket vouchers.

Agree there's a big difference... gravity is super fun. But if I could kite here ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CmuH4OfsYOo ) like Chasta, might be a whole different story. Thrills of skiing/boarding Oregon left me a couple of decades ago Wink That's pretty sour I know but other than a good pow day here and there, not sure. Gotta learn how to hit the parks.

True, gotta get on that someday.

I'm just psyched to finally get a working snowboard back in shape this winter. Knocked the dust off the 175 Sims Ace but hard boots and alpining is not in the cards. Found the Nidecker, which I time share with Slither and bought some new Burton bindings, the old Clickers that were on it aren't made anymore and my boots were toast.

Can't wait for the Bend Kite event next weekend, hope there's some freshies!

For real what does snowboarding have better than snow kiting. Maybe getting to know a person more on a ski lift?
