New snow at lower levels. Dalles Mtn Ranch would work. Anyone ready to rally?

Here in the dalles we got rain/sleet all day yesterday. No new snow. I wouldn't bet that dalles mountain has good snow quality. I am up for a water session though.

Are you guys wearing wetsuits this time of year? (If so - which ones). Or are you guys in dry suits - would be sweet to get some action this early on in the year - just don't want to clog up the river with a frozen carcus though.

I am wearing the same wetsuit I wore last week. Mutant 5/4. with the zip on hood. Super warm. I also have 5mm boots and gloves.

Kodiak, Did you really stay toasty in a 5/4 ?

Not questioning your sanity, just thinking of trying a local spot in my 5/4 but didnt think my wife would appreciate having to call in Air Life to fish the ice cube out of the pond (besides I dont think Air Life is equipped for water rescue)

I was in my Drysuit , gloves, hat, and my new Atan Hot Mistral booties. Even sitting in the water I was warm & my toes were TOASTY warm. Those Mistral boots are the absolute shit. Very comfortable to wear; definitely more of a "barefoot" feel compared to my other booties.

Thanks To Janet for providing support & hot cocoa today! I am completely in your debt! Thumb's Up

37 ouch... be sure to cover everything! Even if you're warm, you're hands go numb in about five mins in that water. Shocked

I was at the coast on Thursday. 26g35 Could have hit the bay... might have been a little cold. Probably good thing Spike / kite gear wasn't there...

Definitely want to make sure you have warm gloves and booties. I have some super warm 5 mm gloves and 5 mm boots. My feet and ahnds were fine, although I must say bodydragging for my board was not much fun. Shocked

Typically my wetsuit is plenty warm. It has a nice zip on hood that is quite toasty, and I also wore my hat underneath this time for extra warmth. I also added another pullover top on top just for extra warmth. That was more for the insulation when I was not in the water though, since the air temp was right around freezing.

Here are a few pictures Janet took. Unfortunately the wind got a bit fluky by the time Nak got out so not many shots of him.

When we were driving back from Idaho we saw one guy out windsurfing at rufus and it looked like 7 conditions. Then saw what must have been you out at rowena. Props, totally hard core when the dock inlet is frozen over.
