With this weekend’s big dump and strong winds, Island Park, Idaho is deep and drifted. Snowkite season is ON in IP!
Sawtelle Mountain Resort http://www.sawtellemountainresort.com (about a mile from the Hungry Bear kite spot) is offering discounted room rates for the weekend of the Intermountain Rally. Rates for a “Deluxe Single Queen” room are normally $74.00 and this will be discounted to $60. Rates for a “Double Queen” are normally $84.00 and this will be discounted to $70. Bring your suit as there are two hot tubs at the Resort.
The Island Park Lodge will be opening their bar for the winter season that weekend and that is a short distance from the Sawtelle Mtn Resort. They may have pub grub available for Sat. night.
Ponds Lodge, where many kiters stayed last year, has torn down their smaller cabins and are offering big 8 – 12 person cabins (for considerably more $).
