Kramer and I have a little space left in our LaVentana house. We are staying January 15 through the 25th. Its located about a mile upt he beach from captain kirks and the rest of the zoo. Nice digs, private beach access with a shed for our gear on the beach.
If you get plane tickets for what we did $550... then your looking at a total cost for air/lodging/ and car rental of $950. Not bad for 10 nights in the land of sun and wind.
Not sure what food will cost-- house has a kitchen-- but it can't be that much and I'm not real concerned. I'm more worried about how to get a keg of Alaskan winter ale down there |

DUDE. "When in Rome, do as the Romans do". Got to drink the tasty local Mexi beers! Heavy dark ale, BAD, in a sunny, warm environment anyways. Lighter, cold, local Largers, GOOD!. If you want a darker Mexi beer (ale), go for Negro Modelo w/a wedge of lime!
As far as food goes, get stuff for breakfast and lunch for your kitchen, so you can max time on your private beach and water time. And for dinner, go out every night. When I was there in '06, 4-5pm was cleanup and cocktail hr, then we went out. . . If i recall right, 3 beers and tons of food was around 12 to15 dollars. To sleep by around 10:30/11pm, up at sunrise. . . REPEAT.
Bigger supermarket stlye grocery store in Los Barriles and I'm sure there is one in La Paz (not sure where your flying into). Check out Los Barriles on the North end for some good sailing.
Be patient at dinner, sometimes it took a good hour to get our food. Don't forget a good pair of warm sweat pants, jacket and stocking cap, as some of the places we ate where outside. Sounds like fun. |
