I am heading to the Dominican Republic this June and am wondering if any of you have a personal recommendation of where to stay. Kitting is the main goal with sight seeing on off days. We are looking for a nice place to stay, it doesn’t have to be the Ritz, but be nice. Thanks for any ideas. _________________ MS |

hey there,
I was in the bed and breakfast 'hooked cabarete' at enquentro beach. A nice dutch guy who owns the place, and everything was certainly ok overthere!

The only thing was that the last day I was robbed by two local guys at one in the morning on the street...not so nice...
So always be aware, that you don't take safety for granted overthere.. _________________ if surfing would be easy, it would be called football... |

Try this place:

I have stayed there, in Bahia de Arena, several times and it's pretty sweet. Probably best if you are travelling with friends. The houses are right there on the beach about half way between town and kite beach. It pretty much has it's own launch on what's called Bozo beach. Walk to 50m to kite. Not as hectic as kite beach itself but you can walk there if you want too. Private security too which can be an issue but only if you are not thinking.
Wish I could go. Looks like the prices have gone up a bit. |

My board got stolen right of the main beach. The kiting was great, not so impressed with the locals, always trying to get their hands in your pockets. _________________ Learn, Love, Live.... |
