Ya, if its to much no loss, I live down town there, however, tomorrow is looking better if not today. Below is Temira's forcast.

From- http://www.temirawagonfeld.com/windblog/

Hi everyone,

Thanks to Dana for the almost-wakeup call at 7:15 this morning. Dana lives on the bluff in Hood River and was calling to let me know that it's 65 degrees and nuking.

It's colder than that inside my house. It's not nuking in here, though.

Apparently it blew so hard that the power is out in much of HR and White Salmon. For once, the ghetto has been spared. I have the power!

Gradients this morning at .18/.04/.44 and there's a wall of rain approaching on the satellite picture. What this suggests is that the cold front is just west of Hood River. So... give it a couple of hours and watch the gradients in the desert. I'd expect 35+ at Arlington and Threemile later today. I suspect that The Wall will be very gusty. If you don't want to drive, gusty 30+ is the call from Hood River eastward.

Tomorrow is looking quite good. Strong high pressure builds in at the coast, driving winds into the 28-32 range from the Hatch to Maryhill. Wind direction should be better at The Wall tomorrow. Sail around 11-1 tomorrow for strongest winds. After that, high pressure builds inland, tempering gradients.

Does the warm weather mean winter's over?

Have a great day!

Temira

i dunno...... i thought about going for a dawn patrol this morning before work, but then the wind graph for the event site was reading 6 - 28. definately not worth the effort, especially if it might be better tomorrow. the columbia is mighty cold to be going out in that shittay of wind

here is what NWS has to say for HR, tomorrow might be do-able....

Today: Rain. High near 59. Windy, with a west wind around 36 mph, with gusts as high as 60 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%.

Thursday: A 30 percent chance of showers before 10am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 55. Breezy, with a west wind between 20 and 24 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph.

forecasts are nice and all to see if there is a possibility of going, but the real determining factor is me looking out the window and seeing what the cloud cover and rain is doing at the moment and whether or not i see clouds/rain moving in. I'll admit it is rather warm for november. what is the river water temp? anyone know?

I was gonna hit the road to Padre today.
Maybe I'll get to ride Rufus on the way out of the Gorge.

Water = 55 degrees as of this a.m. and freaky warm mid 60's air in Nov! With that water/air temp combo you will be toasty in any 5/4 steamer. Less gusty out east later.

Good day to skip outta work early Very Happy

I think trying to kite right now if the equivalent of heating and scraping every pipe and bong in the house (even that pipe you found in some drawer from 5 years ago that you thought you lost), and doing knife hits.

Sure, your going to get a buzz, but is it worth it too go to sink to such desperation.

i dunno about you, but i sure as hell never have to resort to scraping anything.... Wink

but i do agree, and nice analogy, i'm not going unless it turns out to be a nice day, none of this 5 - 30 and cloudy shit; bleh. hopefully tomorrow will deliver.

i did see a kite out already tho

Just got off the river. Good times had. Alittle gusty but it was 65F, partly sunny, 7M and a rainbow over Washington the entire time. Pritty sweet for Nov.
