So where are you all? Just scoped the river and don't see any kites. I'm in the tallest building downtown Vancouver.

I've been watching the airport too, looks good enough? See you there in a little bit?

flew pdx last night about 7pm...the current is amazingly strong...pulls you downriver quick but still worth a few walks up the beach.

Drove out to check it out, but the wind had dropped significantly. I think without the current being a factor it would have been no problem riding, but with the current it wasn't enough wind.

Confused

Drove over for a look but wind was looking a bit iffy, current was ripping, probably take about 5knots off the wind. Seems to be getting a bit of south in it as well. A guy was having fun with a trainer but I forgot mine.
So no one ever gets hassled here by sheriffs or FAA for kiting so close to the airport? Can it be kited in Southerlies if you leave a car over by Winkler? Would be upstream of the sewage coming out of the willamette

yeah i think there is a rule/law about how far away from an airport you have to be to fly a kite. Also i heard a guy had his kite destroyed in a flat spin caused by the jet wash from Iceman's Tomcat. We'll miss ya Goose.
