Hi
My name is kristine, i was on spring break in Cabo a week or so ago and i saw kitesurfing in a small town outside of cabo. HOW COOL IS THAT i said!!!

I am a really good wakeboarder, i can jump the wake, but cannot do tricks, NE Way, i was told by an older man in mexico that was from portland that i shoud check out this website for advice on where to buy a kite, and where to go to kitesurf around here.

It looks really fun and easy i cannot wait to try it! Smile

Kristine

PS how much does a kite cost? I am on a student budget LOL Wink

kristine, where do i start?. . .

imagine your best adrenaline rush, your highest high, purest joy, most out-of-mind experience.

now imagine your greatest fear, all alone, left on your own to live another day or drift away.

kiting can be both of these extremes, even in the same day. it IS FUN. (i dunno about easy, though. . .

might i suggest a lesson? try kiteboardoregon.com. jimmi dorsey is a calm, encouraging instructor with jet ski support-absolutely a must. there are other instructors around that are good as well. what makes jimmi cool, besides his killer tats, is that being mobile and not limited to a hunk of real estate, he can meet you where the wind is good on lesson day.

expect to pay for the lessons, though, unless you are exceptionally beautiful. Embarassed

cheers

If your in Portland, check out All Surf Industry and/ or Gorge Performance. ASI should have Kite Night again this year (Mark?) It's great to get some basics and meet people that ride. Hope to see you on the water.

Sauvie Island Kite Nite sounds like a brilliant idea you can learn all about:

1) launching your kite away from the water
2) walking your kite upwind on the beach while totally ignoring the safety of innocent bystanders
3) self landing your kite not giving a fuck who or what you land your kite on

Thats what we need is more SI trained kiters in the world...
