Jon Modica is pushing his tail out to rotate the board instead of carving up wind (which is usually what you see Sky doing). I think carving upwind works better on a race board because you can get higher into the wind window faster(sharp rails and volume forward), but on a surfboard my experience has been a carve then skid-(pushing the tail) keeps me in balance better. It is the body pivot to the opposite tack/stance that I screw up on usually. (being the graceful devil that I am........NOT!!!).

Dude what are those guys doing riding without straps.....kooks.....don't they know strapless riding is like rollerblading Rolling Eyes
