For one month, competitors from around the world gathered in Nambia in hopes of earning the title of the fastest sailor in the world. On Oct 8, the 50-knot speed barrier was broken by three kiteboarders: Alex Caizergues (F-One) 50.57 knots; Rob Douglas (Cabrinha) 50.54 knots and Sebastian Cattelan (Genetrix) 50.52 knots.

Thursday’s guest on The Kiteboarder Magazine and ASNews.net podcast is Rob Douglas who placed an impressive second place at the Luderitz Challenge, the final leg of the PKRA speed trials. A mere breath of a second from claiming bragging rights as the fastest sailor in the world, Rob will be joining host Ryan Riccitelli this Thursday evening to talk about speed racing, the competition and what motivated him to get into it in the first place.
