Same vid on Canon's site. As stated by others, if Canon is getting these results with their pro still cameras, I wonder what's in store for their new HD vid cams...
We've also got the RED Scarlet coming (3k for $3k)
...and the HVX170, Panny's fully dedicated solid state P2 camera (no tape). You've seen the HVX200 in Mack Dawg, Poor Boyz and many others...
It's a good season to be in the market for an HD cam _________________ Order your copy of Present Tense today at http://cineaptic.bigcartel.com/product/present-tense-dvd |

Nice find on that Nate, Sick sick video!
I like where its going with SLR mixed with HD cam... that way if you choose to invest in lenses you get to use them for both. |

Timely. Just happened to be talking cams with the resident photog' at work today and he was so stoked on this unit. I'm sold since I've been wanting an upgrade for my entry level canon.
apparently within a few months Canon will be offering a new "professional" camera based on the same CMOS technology. Same image quality as 5D Mark II but with full weather sealing, world class autofocus system, huge buffer for longer video clips and higher capture frame rates.
schweet video. |

| Nice find, Phil! The cams are cool, but shooting kiting (or any fast moving action) with a 35mm setup is not going to be fun to try to keep in focus. If you want it for the video, maybe it's good for the price, but you're better off just getting a vid cam with a 35mm adapter. SLR wise, I'm sure it's psycho! |

Word...good call Adam. Also I've heard the output codec won't stand up to color correction. No big deal for home movies, but for anything pro that won't cut it. At least shoot on the fly or action pro. Notice how they make it clear in the sample video that no color correction was used...
For photos though...wow. I bet the HD side could also bring some unique options as far as timelapsing in a single SLR body.
I'm camera-nerdng out so hard right now it isn't even funny _________________ Order your copy of Present Tense today at http://cineaptic.bigcartel.com/product/present-tense-dvd |

another nice plus is it most likely fits right inside my existing water housing!
Looks like an upgrade may be in my near future. _________________ www.jimstringfellow.com |
