Today was my new 9m's maiden voyage from Dalton to Rooster- in the haste of getting out, I spaced the new options available on the new Revs- the bar pressure pigtails-
Unfortunately the stock setting was ultra light, great for big gusts (and my soon to be broken board) but not as powerful as my 08-
so the question- what pigtail do you use that closely resembles the feel of the 08? I know I'll try them all out eventually, but for the next frantic start I want to be ready-
Cheers-
Even in the light setting it handled beautifully- looking forward to tapping everything it has to offer!

In my experience the 09's fly best with the super thick lines on the back, the skinny ones on the front, white connects to red, and red connects to white. Oh yea, they also fly better with the 08 bar and lines! Wait a minute- then it would be the same kite as 08.
Disclaimer and release of liability: don't ever connect you lines as described above. I love my revs.

Firstly, the 2008 Rev’s have been well received, and the strategy with moving forward to 2009 was to add features without making tradeoffs in performance. The result is a kite with refinements instead of a kite with major design change. These refinements are summed up in 2 areas.
1) Durability – Surf tough seams are added to the vertical seams. This adds more strength to the seams where the kite canopy experiences the most load.
2) Tunability – There are 3 different attachment points for the rear bridle line. The change is simple by moving the bridle line and pigtail to the preferred attachment point. These points will tune the steering, bar pressure and feedback of the kite.
a. Rear point – Best for lightest bar pressure, one handed steering, and light feedback. Steering is the fastest. Best relaunch. Best for kiteloops.
i. A rider who wants the most effortless feeling will enjoy this setting the most.
b. Most forward point – Most bar pressure, most feedback, most c-kite feel. Steering is most direct and turning is slower. Relaunch takes the most effort.
i. This setting is best for riders who want to feel the most out of the kite and who want the kite to be the most predictable when unhooking. Powered wake style, no-flick tricks are best on this setting.
c. MIDDLE point – Being in the middle it offers a middle ground to above 2 settings.
i. Most suited to riders who want a little more feedback and bar pressure out of the kite, if they think the rear point doesn’t have enough.
As a side note, the larger sizes(11, 13, 15) are most suited to the rear attachment point. As any kite gets bigger, the bar pressure automatically goes up and the turning slows down, so most people will appreciate the rear setting the most.
As to the 09 not being powerful as the 08 give it a couple more rides to get your settings dialed and then let us know what you think.
Super stoke your happy with 2009 REV!
