Fri Sep 12, 08 2:42 pm Visiting kiter requesting Florence info |

Hey NW kiters,
I might be visiting Eugene, Oregon for a business trip and I'd be stoked to kite if I get the chance. Florence looks like a killer spot. I took a look at the iKite wind archive data and it looks like there could be some great side-on wind in September.
Can anyone share some info about kiting in this area?
Thanks in adance!

Just look here http://weather.noaa.gov/cgi-bin/fmtbltn.pl?file=forecasts/marine/coastal/pz/pzz350.txt and if they're calling for 15+ N NW (and no showers rain) then you're good.
There are always a few folks there when it's good.
When you go outbound look out for guys trying to rip downwind on a wave and yield to them (by stopping/turning) if need be as the whole point of the place is to try and rip the waves.
Have fun and bring a small kite. Oh yeah and this is all secret so don't tell anyone |

| thanks for the tips! and rest assured, I will respect the wave ettiquite and won't sell out the spot. I'm all about rippin the waves, so I'll just settle into the line up and wreck a few lips with the NW kite crew! |
