Yeah, it would probably be a good idea if most of those guys out there yesterday would get them removed. Maybe that would fix whatever is wrong with them... Wanting to walk around naked while getting sandblasted by 35 mph gusts...
The best beach (sometimes the only beach) on the upper Columbia should not be reserved for these guys to run around in the bushes and do each other. Families should be able to use this gorgeous beach without fear of being accosted by perverts. Just my opinion. |

What a day! The Nak flats ought to be called Sac flats. I left it there yesterday because I kited it off.
Seeing everyone out was awesome. Especially watching GeneK kill it.

When were you at the flats? The Nak Flats are a couple miles West of Rooster...   Mark, Nicole and myself were the only ones there. I think you were at the ponds at the East end of Rooster? We kited there before we left for the flats, pretty damn fun!!! |

Sorry to come across like that man. It's just that, for a big chunk of the Summer that's the only sandy beach up that way. It would be nice if families could have access to part of it. |

Oh, my comment wasn't directed at you, or anyone else. I was just poking fun. Of all the access obstacles we face as kiteboarders, this has to be the funniest.
They should put up better signs, and the douche bag by the trail head should move down the beach instead of calling attention to himself while he masquerades as a messenger. |

I really don't want to start this discussion cause everyone is just going label me a homophobic close minded hick, but what the hell, that's never stopped me before.
He was sitting right at the end of the trail (beach side) and letting people that didn't look like kiteboarders know it was a nude beach.
The case I saw was when a family walked by. They probably wouldn't have even noticed him there had he not said anything. His body language was very smug, we all know it's inappropriate for young kids to see that, but he made it clear that the kids should see him.
I over head him talking to another nude guy. He said he was sitting there to let people know as they walked by that it was a nude beach. |

In all seriousness, I think a line about halfway from the Volleyball sign to the East end of the beach. East of the line, whatever. West of the line, normal beach.
In years past, there was a LOT more sand by the parking lots. Now there's a lot of mud there. The nice beaches are all East of the Volleyball sign. |

I'd recommend paintball guns as a remedy for those guys. The regular naked beach goers don't like them either.

A nude beach just means it's clothing optional. It doesn't mean you have to be nude (according to signs). Also, being nude is one thing harassing people is another (referring to other cases discussed before). Also, I don't think sexual activity is technically allowed, straight or bent, (please correct me if I'm wrong). I guess in my mind these are separate issues: being nude, gay, whatever vs. inappropriate behavior. It's unfortunate that some of the nudies try to make it unpleasant for other beach users. The beach actually got closed down for a while to nudists many years ago due to excessive drug use and promiscuous behavior. It was reopened once things stabilized and hopefully won't go down that path again.
Forrest, it's not homophobic to call people out on doing annoying shit.
I also see what Nak is saying. A pretty HUGE part of the beach is dedicated nudist. Could probably split it a bit more evenly.
But, hey, it's still awesome we have a place like that to kite.
