To the blowhard at Sauvie tonight with the ponytail...:

You: Sauvie tonight, 6pm, blue slingshot kite, surfboard, ponytail, despicable attitude.

A guy and his girlfriend were flying a trainer about 20yards downwind of the tin-can pole. Ponytail walks his kite all the way upwind to the tin can and starts to launch right in front of the trainer when it’s lines start to cross his.

Ponytail’s response: “what the f*ck are you doing you stupid f*ck. Get the f*ck away from me. Are you f*cking stupid. Stay the f*ck upwind.”

Trainer Guy: “..Sorry man, I don’t know the rules”

Ponytail: “stay the f*ck upwind. Do you know how much my kite costs? How much was your kite?”

Trainer: “what?

Ponytail: “How much was your kite?”

(this is when I walked over and picked up the guy’s trainer kite)

Me: “Dude, you need to back off, that language is not necessary”

Ponytail: “ he needs to stay upwind. Is that fair? Is that fair?”

Me: “ take it easy. Maybe it’s fair if he knows what upwind means…you should try staying away from him instead.”

So…Mr Ponytail. If you’re out there… a few things:

- Nobody gives a rat’s ass how good you are, how long you’ve been riding, how expensive your gear is, or how long your ponytail is…there’s no excuse to treat ANYBODY the way you treated that guy tonight.
- Just like skateboarding and snowboarding before, A-holes like you and your juvenile attitude creep out and intimidate beach bystanders and potential newcomers and give the sport, and every innocent passionate kiteboarder a bad name.
-If you deem your skills so advanced to justify insulting beginners, what the hell are you doing walking your kite upwind that far next to a trainer kite to begin with?
-I’m pretty sure you sucked one time too and you should be embarrassed of losing sight of where you came from.

If I ever have the misfortune of seeing you again, it better be watching you apologizing to a community you don’t deserve.

If you post get your story straight. The Kite was Purple and a Naish. I said "What the fuck".

I had my Kite OVER THE WATER When I came by, not over land. And I said "TRAINER KITES DOWN WIND OF KITERS" , Not up wind .

Oh and the reason Why I was walking up wind was to save some ones board. Do you think I owe him an apology?

ohhhh...! well you should have said so. my gosh...that totally entitles you to be a complete jerk. My error! Please...feel free again.

And you are right..i did make a few mistakes in my post, the main one being that you actually said "Move your f*cking TOY;how much was your TOY?"

That was a correction made by the other 4 people on the beach that heard you being an ass.

My error. It all makes sense now.

Ummmm, Actually, the people that frequent Sauvie regularly want the people that are learning and all the trainer kites UPWIND.
Upwind of the tin can is perfect actually. There is too much stuff going on too much traffic for people that have a hard time controlling trainers to be down wind of the regular launch.

At any rate, if your walking into newb town then you should expect to handle a little kookiness and not loose your cool. No reason to be going off on people, nobody owns the beach.

On the other hand, if your flying a trainer kite and you don't know what the hell your doing and can't even keep it out of someone elses lines, then land the damn thing before they get to you. Common sense, people strapped to a full sized kite are at a much greater risk of getting hurt from your trainer then you are from them.

So Duh, and Duh.

Appropriate responses when someone wraps your kite with a trainer kite (also good for big boy kites)
