It sucked. Too many big cells passing thru. Wind speeds up and down, switching direction like crazy. Bad tide. You didn't miss anything except that the beer was good.

The airport was sucky as well. Up and down.

Good weather to practice relaunching. 5 out of 5 successful, even one after safety deployment Very Happy

During an up moment, this sailboat racing flag boat tried to order me off the water. I did go back to shore, but only because the wind went into a down moment on my way back. I quess they don't think we can actually direct our movement while kiting.

I might hit it again this afternoon.

PMB, I hope you're healing well.

I pretty sure the airport was the only place local that was good enough to play around in yesterday.

It looks like today will be even worse at SI, but alright at the airport.

Drew, funny monkey. I sent one to my son. Thanks for the gigs Laughing

You guys do realize you live within an hour of the Gorge, right?

Come on out and play...it's not that gusty

The gorge is great for conditions, but I live in Washington county.

Sauvies is only about a half hour away. I can hit it every day after work. The spit is a little over an hour and a half away *if* there's no traffic in PDX. Going to the spit adds over two hours extra travel time round trip. The coast is closer.

And for me its not so much the gusts in HR as it is the crowds and other newbs. I've been land kiting for a long time but this is my first season in the water. Flocks of other beginners are *way* more intimidating to me than gusts.

And because most of my kiting is at Sauvies, my smallest kite is a 9m. I can get equipment-skunked in the gorge by too much wind.

If all I did was kiteboard and snowboard, I'd consider moving to HR, but I like the coast too much to move that far inland.

If someone can figure out how to move the gorge, the coast, Mt.Hood and Smith Rocks much closer together, I'd be all for that! Smile

Ya, I hear you. I do want to get out to Jones. I hit the coast yesterday, but it was for an annual buggy comp and a b-day party. Too lite for KB anyway at Sunset yesterday.
